About the Forum

The AI & Education Forum 2026 marks the launch of an annual initiative designed to support ongoing dialogue between second-level and higher education on the impact of artificial intelligence.

Following strong interest, with over 100 schools already registered, the forum has been established as a recurring platform to address key challenges around AI, assessment, academic integrity, and the future of education.

As AI technologies reshape how students engage with knowledge and produce work, educators are facing critical questions:

  • What does it mean to assess learning in the age of AI?
  • How can we ensure authenticity and academic integrity?
  • How should teaching evolve in response to AI-supported learning?

Programme Highlights

  • Keynote: Professor Leo Casey
Teaching as Performative Practice: AI, Learning, and the Tasks of Teaching

  • Keynote: Dr Keith W. Maycock
AI, Assessment, and the Challenge of Knowing What Students Know

  • Panel Discussion:
Rethinking Assessment: What Does It Mean to Know in the Age of AI?
