CircAI (AI for the Circular Economy) is a 20 month project funded by the EPA. Our project started in May 2022 and is finishing up in December 2023. The workshop "Artificial Intelligence and the Circular Economy in Action" the closing event of our project and provides us an opportunity to showcase AI and the Circular Economy in Ireland. In this respect our project holds an important scientific education and dissemination role in communicating the complexities of AI to CE to broad audiences of stakeholders, including the general public.
This workshop is a multidisciplinary event. We particularly welcome participation from academic and industry practictioners who do not currently feel that they have a connection with Artificial Intelligence or the Circular Economy in their work, research, or teaching around environmental sustainability issues. We also particularly welcome contributions from any industry, governmental, or commercial stakeholders in order to begin to build alliances across disciplines without the traditional barriers of disciplines, academic subjects, and so on.
The workshop organisers are Dr. Peter Mooney (peter.mooney@mu.ie), Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science and Dr. Muhammad Salman Pathan (muhammad.pathan@mu.ie), Senior Postdoctoral Researcher, Department of Computer Science.
