Research and Professional Profile
As of August 2011, I have moved to the School of Computer Science and Informatics at University College Dublin (UCD).
My current UCD homepage can be viewed HERE...
I am a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Lecturer at the Department of Computer Science, NUI Maynooth (CS-NUIM) Ireland. I obtained a PhD in Computer Science in 2008 which was funded by the Irish Research Council for Secience Engineering and Technology (IRCSET). The topic of my PhD research was remotely sensed image segmentation of urban areas. I also hold a BSc in Computer Science.
At CS-NUIM I am involved in a very active research group on Geotechnologies lead by Dr. Adam Winstanley. The research group is comprised of myself, a number of PhD students, Dr. Winstanley, and two other senior researchers: Dr. Jianghua Zheng and Dr. Peter Mooney who also works for the Environmental Protection Agency. Dr. Mooney and I have a number of collaborative projects together and curently have a number of significant publications pending publication. Our research group is integrated into the Science Foundation Ireland's STRAT-AG funding (07/SRC/I1168) at the National Center for Geocomputation (NCG) at NUI Maynooth where Dr. Winstanley is a Co-PI.
