I am originally from Clonakilty in West Cork. Clonakilty is well known as a tourist spot and home of "black pudding" (or "blood sausage" as Americans call it). I am married to Dr. Amy Bohan who works in the software concultancy sector. We have two children, Jamie and Dylan.

I did my BSc and MSc in Computer Science at University College Cork (UCC). I begain my Phd in Trinity College Dublin (TCD) but graduated from University College Dublin (UCD) when my supervisor, Mark Keane, moved there. I completed a PostGrad Diploma in Higher Ed. PGDHE at the National University of Ireland Maynooth (NUIM).

Here are some notes and a self published paper by Susan Lolle about the biological controversy underlying her research about non-Mendelian genetic repair in Arabidopsis thaliana. This biological theory is also the inspiration for my research!

On a much lighter note, try the Ishihara test for colour-blindness. Like many men, I'm quite colour blind. Ok, very colour blind.
