Digitally blending two images using their Fourier representations.

The objective of this project is to form new piepes of art by digitally blending two existing images - which may or may not themselve be artworks. We make almost no assumptions about the 'input' images, other than that they are represented digitally. They may be: black and white, greyscale, or colour; representing geometric figures, paintings, photographs etc. or any combination of these. As blending take place in the Fourier representation of these images, we expect to avoid the more obvious "cut and paste" approach to creating new images from existing ones. As the first example shows, the results can sometimes be quite surprising!
